Xirriquiteula Teatre has over 25 years’ experience creating theatrical productions for all audiences, both indoor and outdoors. Headed by Iolanda Llansó as artistic director, the company has developed its own style both in its aesthetic and in the dramatic treatment of works.

A natural impulse towards the joy of living – whatever circumstances one faces – and discovery of the values of a meeting with another being, are two fundamental elements that imbue all its creations.

Xirriquiteula Teatre’s creative résumé includes the successful productions: Contes del Cel (2001), Girafes (2003), Papirus (2004) and Per un Instant (2009) – created jointly with La Tresca i la Verdesca.

Since 2006, Xirriquiteula regularly presents its productions on the international theatre circuit, and is a pioneering Catalan company in its field.

Recently the company premiered Laika (2018), a tale about the first live being to orbit the Earth.
